Equal Education & Employment Opportunity Policy

Non-Discrimination Policy

It is the policy of the Hamburg Community School District not to illegally discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, religion, creed, age (for employment), marital status (for programs), sexual orientation, gender identity and socioeconomic status (for programs) in its educational programs and its employment practices. There is a grievance procedure for processing complaints of discrimination. Multicultural (MC) approaches to the educational program are defined as those with foster knowledge of, and respect and appreciation for, the historical and contemporary contributions of diverse cultural groups, including race, color, national origin, sex, disability, religion, creed, and socioeconomic background. The contributions and perspectives of Asian Americans, African Americans, Hispanic Americans, American Indians, European Americans, and persons with disabilities.

Gender Fair (GF) approaches to the educational program are defined as approaches which foster knowledge of, and respect and appreciation for, the historical and contemporary contributions of women and men to society. The program shall reflect the wide variety of roles open to both women and men and which provide equal opportunity to both sexes.

In addition, the District prohibits hostile work and learning environment harassment toward employees or students that are not allegations of discrimination. The district is committed to maintaining a learning and working environment free of any form of sexual harassment toward personnel and students on school grounds, on school time, at a school-sponsored activity or in a school-related context.
