Let's Celebrate Dr. Seuss's Birthday!
We dressed to a title of Dr. Seuss each day.
Monday was hats for Cat in the Hat.
Tuesday was green for Green Eggs and Ham.
Wednesday was crazy socks for Fox in Socks.
Thursday was vacation shirts for Oh, The Places You'll Go and mustaches for The Lorax.
Friday was pajama day for The Sleep Book.
Each morning of Dr. Seuss week started with a read aloud by a local celebrity. Our celebrities included Mayor Crain, Mr. Curt Crain, Officer Richardson, Mr. JH Wolf, and Senor Spencer. Friday was extra special with green eggs and ham for breakfast and reading buddies in the gym.
Dr. Seuss was born in March on the second day in fact.
This year we will celebrate his birthday for five days to be exact.
The first day we will wear hats, the next day we will wear green.
There will be a day for crazy socks and shirts from places we have seen.
The last day we will wear our cozy sleeping pajamas.
Call your momma or a drama filled llama,
Because with these special dress up days, we will honor his memory
And, all the great stories he wrote for you and me!
