Here's the last National FFA Convention update! Today is day 4 and it started off with a tour at RSG where students learned about the reproductive system and opportunities within the sheep and goat industry. From there we traveled to Traders Point Dairy Creamery where members learned how they operate their farm to table creamery and got to enjoy sampling their ice cream. Tour 3 for the day was a self guided tour at Conners Prairie and it was a great activity to round out our afternoon. We are wrapping up the evening with the Three Hills Rodeo that is for FFA members only! It’s been an amazing week with the Rock Port, Tarkio, West Nodaway, and Sidney FFA Chapters! National FFA Convention update! On day 3 members attend the general session this morning and listened to the keynote speaker Scott McKain- " Belief is not expecting a guaranteed win; Belief is knowing that a loss doesn't define your worth or limit your future!" Then members attended leadership workshops and attended the career & college fair all day long. After a day at convention members enjoyed a dinner together as a chapter! Day 1 Tuesday we spent the day traveling half way and stopped for two tours. Our first tour was at Biozyme in St Joseph where they produce mineral and protein tubs for livestock. Our second tour was Trans Ova in Chillicothe. Trans Ova is a reproduction company that provides the cattle industry the opportunity to improve their genetics with scientific procedures. Day 2 Wednesday morning we traveled the rest of the way to Indiana and started our day traveling to Becks Hybrids for the tour of the day. Members toured the whole facility and learned how the family-owned business operates! We ended the day with dinner at Mayberry Cafe and preparing for a full day at Convention on Thursday! - Hamburg FFA Reporter- Hannah Beyer

On Tuesday October 6th , 13 FFA members traveled to Atlantic, Iowa to compete in the Southwest CDE Day. Students competed in Dairy Foods judging, Horse Judging, Livestock Judging, and Farm Business Management.

The Hamburg Kiwanis Club has invited Hamburg Charter High School to start a Key Club, and I am excited to help get this new organization started!

I am looking for a minimum of 11 motivated high school students who are interested in getting involved, serving our school and community, and developing leadership skills.

If you are interested in joining or have any questions, please feel free to email me. I will be meeting with the Kiwanis Club soon to begin the process and will share more information with interested students as it becomes available.

I hope you will consider being part of this new opportunity and helping us get the Hamburg High School Key Club off the ground!
