On Thursday, April 6, 5th graders went on their annual trip to Des Moines.

The morning was spent at the capitol building.

Pardon my first use of a selfie stick!

The afternoon was spent at Science Center of Iowa. Students loved the Maker Studio and exploring the other discovery centers.

Mr. Peters even got in on the fun in the sound room. Friends are exploring the underwater sounds.

Hailee is aiming air to keep the beach ball in the air.

Students experimented with different designs to flow water to create the most energy. Instead of dividing into teams and using both sides to compete. Students decided to synergize and work as an unit.

During the egg drop activity, students used their science method knowledge from the science fair. Words like hypothesize and data were used. Students decided to drop the egg by itself first to see what the results were before designing the egg's protection.
