The week fifth graders took a break from their Journey's reading book and dove into Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes. The story is about a girl named Sadako who is diagnosed with leukemia. In her culture, it is believed that if a thousand paper cranes are folded the sick will recover. After reading the story, fifth graders attempted to fold paper cranes. It was quite the challenge!
