In fifth grade math, we are focused on converting measurements. Gallons to pints, inches to feet, cups to quarts, yards to feet, etc. After a much thrilling rap about Capacity Kingdom and the King G who is a "playah" with four queens, a prince and princess each, and each child having two crowns, students were eager to convert length measurements.

We took converting length to the gym with a paper airplane contest. Students measured their paper airplane's distance in feet. As a class we converted the feet into inches and yards.
